BEGIN:VCALENDAR PRODID:NingEventWidget-v1 VERSION:2.0 METHOD:PUBLISH BEGIN:VEVENT UID:2230384:Event:11611 DTSTAMP:20120214T012035Z SUMMARY:Succoth 09 - Camp Meeting and Conference DESCRIPTION:The Feast of Tabernacles or booths, Succoth in Hebrew, is a seven day festival that is meant to commemorate a time when Ancient Israel dwelt in temporary huts or shelters (see for example Leviticus 23:41-43). It is one of the three pilgrim festivals. It also seems to point to a time in the future when God's people will once again dwell in booths (See Hosea 12:8-10).\n\nThis will be our 3rd Annual Camp Mee ting and conference during this Ancient Hebrew Festival. The past two have been incredible times with wonderful fellowship and stimulating B ible teaching. Past conferences have featured the teachings of James T abor, Ralph Buntyn, Joseph and Debbie Good, and Walter Oakley. We have also had a local expert give an insightful lecture on the Jewish infl uence in the south (Anne Butler).\n\nThis year's conference will prove to be the best yet! The congregation of Beth Lechem (South Carolina) will spend this entire festival with us at the camp site! They will be working along with our local congregation to make this Succoth the mo st memorable event for all who can join us.\n\nSome will want to spend the entire time (7 days) with us, while others will chose to spend on ly the conference with us.\n\nThe conference will be held on October 9 th, 10th and 11th. According to the standard Jewish calendar, the firs t night in the succah would be Friday, October 2nd and the last night would be Thursday, October 8th. Over the conference weekend (October 9 -11) we will celebrate Simchat Torah together and initiate a bond arou nd the coming year's torah cycle.\n\nSome of the attendees follow the Karaite method of observing the months and so we have booked the camps ite through the morning of the 13th.\n\nBegin planning now to join us this year as we celebrate this festival under the stars in Saint Franc isville.\n\nThe conference as well as the camp out are open to all, wh ether you are Jewish, Ephraimite, Bnai Noach, or \"other\" ...so long as you seek to follow the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and live you r life according to the principles of the Hebrew Bible.\n\nOur local g roup is trying to make this experience comfortable, and we are facing several expenses.
