Many of you know that the 21 days/three weeks between the 17th of the 4th month (Tammuz) and the 9th of the 5th month (Av) is a special period of sober contemplation and even mourning in Jewish tradition, and for that matter in history. There is so much to be learned about this period and the following document I have found utterly fascinating. My own experience is that this can be, in Dicken's immortal words, "the worst of times, the best of times." My guess is that if you look back over the past three weeks (July 9 through 30th), ending tomorrow with the fast of the 5th month (mentioned in Zechariah 8:18-19), you will probably notice that this three week period was quite stormy, but at the same time offering positive hope and insights...I have found that to be exceptionally true this year, but in other years as well. Here is the link and I hope it serves you well with insight and learning:

James,

This is a bit over the top, but a good reference. Truly a "big" day in history.
