No where in the Hebrew Scriptures does it say : "We must work" six days , in some translations may read this way, but in Hebrew it comes out like this: " for six days "MAY" work be done", meaning a maximum of six days in a week "MAY" work be done !! LOL, Other-wise - forget any vacation !! LOL.... I Samuel chapter five says : "that the First day of the Month was a New Moon Feast Day" the second day of the month followed the "New Moon Feast Day", then the Third day !!! The First Day of each month is the New Moon Day ! Then the day after is Day TWO, and all the way till you get to the Seventh Day ! During the Feast of Non-Leavened Bread and Tabernacles and Day of Atonement(tenth day !!) there is NO work to be done in commerce (no servile work) !! - what ? the tenth day *day of Atonement" - OH, I guess we better start counting after the Tenth Day for a Sabbath??? The day after Atonement is Day ONE ??? NO !! Neither is the Day after NEW MOON Day - day ONE !! The day after New Moon Day is Day TWO !!!!!!!! During the Seven day Feast of Non-Leavened Bread - The First day of that Feast is Passover, There is No Break in that Feast because you make the bread of TWO days before the Last Day. The Feast of Tabernacles is a SEVEN day Feast as well - beginning also on the day after the SHabbath, Like Passover(First day of Non-Leavened Bread),, from the Fifteenth till the twenty-second is the Feast of Tabernacles and there is a Seventh Day Sabbath the day before the Last day, the Last day we are able to cook - so there is a break during the Feast(The Seventh Day Shabbath). During Feast of Non-Leavened Bread there is no break - it is from the Fifteenth till the Twenty First !! Leviticus chapter Twenty-three and Exodus Chapter Twelve.... Passover begins after Sundown - after the Fourteenth is Finished because the Fourteenth is ALways the Seventh Day Shabbath !! The Seventh , The Fourteenth, The Twenty-First, The Twenty-eighth - these days are the SHABBATH !! The NEW MOON Day is Day Number ONE ! HalLeLuYAH PraiseBeToYAH , ... I t is not a sin if we work only Three days per week !! We MAY work a Maximum of Six days as Long as a Feast day is not involved in that particular week !! sincerely Brother CHURAN (Yehmiyah Yisreyah CHURAN)age 46, six feet tall(two meters tall), LOL :) if any are curious , LOL :) ... P.S. I use the Word "NON" instead of "UN" because in Latin "UN" is a name for the Devil ! And "SET" is a name for a particular devil in "Egyptian" - you can find this out in a Complete Large Dictionary at a Library. YAHweh and YAHshua Bless (Proverbs 30:4, Psalms 68:4, Revelation 22:14,) NKJV, HOLY NAME BIBLE available on EBay , just type inthe search in ebay the word YAHSHUA .

When we bring correction we should bring it with a humble spirit and not one of haughtiness. You have been chastised for this on more than one occasion. When you continue to abuse people with your words (whether intentional or not) your words become empty to many readers.

Do us and yourself a favor and review your posts for such nonsense before putting them out for public display.

Shalom Florence,

Yeshua said HE was LORD Of the Sabbath.

Have a blessed day!
HalLeLuYAH, I have done more research and I no Longer have any days left over each month . :) The Dark Moon Day(s) are the New Moon Feast and are not counted in the monthly cycle, they are Day(s) Zero, and the First crescent Light is day number one and the end of the New Moon Feast, a sign to go back to work. The seventh day Sabbaths fall on the 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th - days of each month. There are only 28 Lighted moons each month. Sabbath is always First Quarter Moon, FuLL Moon, Last Quarter Moon, and Last cresent(last Lighted Moon). :) HalLeLuYAH PraiseBeToYAH :) This is Brother Yehmiyah Churan :) yehmiyah at yahoo dot com :)

Actually, there are New Moons that are recorded as standard "work days":

Genesis 1:3-5
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night.God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night.
So the evening and the morning were the first day.

Recorded here is the first day of the week, month, year and creation -
and YEHOVAH is busy at work preparing the Earth for mankind.

Genesis 8:13
And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and indeed the surface of the ground was dry.

Here is example of Noah involved in woodwork. Noah removed a large, heavy, fixed part of the wooden ship he built - on the first day of the month (New moon).

If these verses have already been posted - please forgive me. I'm new to this discussion & forum.
Thomas, I already dealt with those examples you cite. Perhaps you could read the whole thread before posting again? It would help the discussion; I'm sure you have value to add.

Thomas, the one point you raise which I didn't address, is the creation week. However, note this well. In Hebrew, "yom echad" is not necessarily translated "first day". That is an interesting study in itself; many lunar sabbatarians have gone into it, I won't rehash here. I can recommend the work of Troy Miller and Matthew Janzen.

The biggest answer is, the first day of Genesis 1:5 is referring to the first day of Creation, not the first day of the month. The Sun, Moon, stars, and the heavenly calendar were not created until the fourth day. There were no months or years until then. So, no, God was not "working" on a New Moon.

Ted
Hi Ted,
I don't have time to go back & read 14 pages of posts -
trying to get ready for company that's coming over.

Would you be so kind as to show us how you count
7 Sabbaths and 50 days to Feast of Weeks/Pentecost?

...given the randomness of the variable/lunar sabbath
the 7 Sabbaths and the 50 days just don't sync up.
Hey Thomas;

Welcome to the forum. I'll take a shot at helping with understanding this from my point of view. This text is the same as my response to another newbie on same forum different thread just yesterday. It must be the "issue du jour"

The actual phrase that encompasses the overall count is "seven Sabbaths complete." So if you begin on the morrow after the Sabbath, after the wave sheaf, then count only 7 Sabbaths complete, and add one day for the morrow after the 7th Sabbath, you come up with 50 days. Keep in mind that new moon days, or day 1 in each month is not counted. Day 2 of each month is the 1st day of the week. This appears to be the most common interpretation and count for Pentecost. Keep in mind that you will find other counts, ranging up to 102 days and others, depending on how the count is interpreted. Also some believe that the count doesn't begin until the 23 day of the month vs the 16th. So there's a variety of interpretations out there, but the one I presented is the usual for a 50 day count. I certainly hope it's not a salvation issue for any of us.
Hope this helps
Paul
Hi Paul, I'll count to 50 a few times & see if that works.

Paul Quote: "Keep in mind that new moon days, or day 1 in each month is not counted.
Day 2 of each month is the 1st day of the week."

...never saw either of those rules in Torah before - maybe you could provide Book, Chapter & Verse?
Thank you, Tom
This reminds me of the Jesus being in the grave 3 days & 3 nights. Fri to Sun morning
2 nights and 1 day is equal to 3 and 3
54 days is equal to 50
LOL! Yes it does, John. ;-D
By george, I think yuv got it!
