Are there any keepers of the true Sabbath on this board?

Hi Ted,
I don't have time to go back & read 14 pages of posts -
trying to get ready for company that's coming over.

Would you be so kind as to show us how you count
7 Sabbaths and 50 days to Feast of Weeks/Pentecost?

...given the randomness of the variable/lunar sabbath
the 7 Sabbaths and the 50 days just don't sync up.

Hey Thomas;

Welcome to the forum. I'll take a shot at helping with understanding this from my point of view. This text is the same as my response to another newbie on same forum different thread just yesterday. It must be the "issue du jour"

The actual phrase that encompasses the overall count is "seven Sabbaths complete." So if you begin on the morrow after the Sabbath, after the wave sheaf, then count only 7 Sabbaths complete, and add one day for the morrow after the 7th Sabbath, you come up with 50 days. Keep in mind that new moon days, or day 1 in each month is not counted. Day 2 of each month is the 1st day of the week. This appears to be the most common interpretation and count for Pentecost. Keep in mind that you will find other counts, ranging up to 102 days and others, depending on how the count is interpreted. Also some believe that the count doesn't begin until the 23 day of the month vs the 16th. So there's a variety of interpretations out there, but the one I presented is the usual for a 50 day count. I certainly hope it's not a salvation issue for any of us.
Hope this helps
Paul

Hi Paul, I'll count to 50 a few times & see if that works.

Paul Quote: "Keep in mind that new moon days, or day 1 in each month is not counted.
Day 2 of each month is the 1st day of the week."

...never saw either of those rules in Torah before - maybe you could provide Book, Chapter & Verse?
Thank you, Tom

This reminds me of the Jesus being in the grave 3 days & 3 nights. Fri to Sun morning
2 nights and 1 day is equal to 3 and 3
54 days is equal to 50

Where does Exodus 12:18 fit
This is a question for those of you holding the sunrise model of the reckoning of the day.
I've been doing a bit of study on the sunrise model of reckoning of day and am seeking some input.
Exodus 12:18 defines the point in time for the beginning of the 7 days of Unleavened Bread.
Could you please define for me where this point of time is in the sunrise model of the reckoning of day.
Appreciation extended
Paul

not sure if this is helpful. I have seen other posts that debate if the 'even' is the beginning of the 14th or the end. To me this passage and how it talks about an other day pretty much clears that up. the '10th day of the months starts on the even of the 9th.
Lev 23:26-32
26 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God.
29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.
31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
(KJV)

This video is very information in regards to the History of the Julian calendar.... Once upon a time, Saturn-day used to be the 1st day of the week on the earliest Julian calendars
