I would like to say while I appreciate the Jews and their journey, I do not nor have I ever felt like I am a Jew, (tribe of Judah and Benjamin, and a few others). Therefore, it is not in my interest to become a Jew. I am waiting patiently for the father to reveal my tribe. While I wanted to go to synagogue to learn more about him, Hebrew and Torah; I do wish to become part of another religion.
It does scare me that people insist that we all have to become Jews, where is that in the Torah. While we are at it, can someone please tell me where it is written to be rude and harsh to people who want to visit the synagogue. I hope it is right beside the scripture that says you turn down an interested party three times.
I understand that the Jewish people have had some really hard plights, so have my people. Why are"some" Jewish groups so exclusive and downright mean. I remember a previous post that asked, "How Judah would want Emphraim to approach them?" Why do we have to walk on eggshells with our Jewish Brethren? Why wouldn't they be happy to know us, embrace us? Is it because we have not participated in their hardship? Also, just a side question, maybe a little silly, I watched several Jewish movies this weekend. I know it is Hollywood, but how would anyone know you were Jewish unless you told them. In most pictures I see of Jewish people they look like the people of their community, a diverse community. Are their distinct features that would let people know they are Jewish. How are you persecuted if no one knows who you are?

Once a time, more than four years ago, I also think I was wondering if I belonged to any of the lost tribes. I studied a website writing about the ‘lost tribes’.
Here I want to outline of what we can learn from Tana’’kh about the lost tribes and how to be included in Am Yisraeil – People of Israel. I will not try to answer all of your questions in this post, Tamla, but the above statement will be answered.
According to Torah, a person having knowledge of a directive of Torah but rejecting it, is karet –cut-off-from the People of Israel [Documentation]. None of us non-Jews writing in this forum have an unbroken record of ancestors not rejecting the Torah. Our ancestors rejected the Torah and if any of our ancestors ever were included in the b’rit that haSheim made with Am Yisraeil, they were cut off, since they rejected it.
As Eisau was born of the same mother as Ya’aqov , yet was an Arab, Eisau’ is proof that simply being born of a Jewish mother or having Jewish DNA isn't sufficient to make one a Jew. Rejection of Torâh excludes even one born of a Jewish mother from Yis’raeil and being a Jew. This is true also for anyone whom had an ancestor belonging to one of the now extinct ‘lost tribes of Israel’.
Neither are there any proofs of any other non-Jew having an unbroken record of ancestors not rejecting the Torah. Thus, the ‘lost tribes of Yisraeil’ are completely lost and assimilated – they don’t exist anymore. According to the historical record some of these ten tribes assimilated into the Jews and most of them assimilated with people not belonging to Am Yisraeil and were cut off from the Tana’’ch-defined Am Yisraeil’s pact with the Creator.
Thus, even if a person has DNA-ancestors from any of the tribes of Israel, this doesn’t make that person included the People of Israel. [Further reading]
A non-Jew needs to become grafted into the People of Israel. This is true according to Torah including historical real world mishpat [Definition mishpat: Link]. It is evident from Tana’’ch that inclusion into Am [People of] Israel couldn’t be done by self proclamation. How to become included and how to live in order to stay included is outlined in Torah including historical real world mishpat. A person seeking to do the Will of the Creator cannot ignore to learn how to keep and start observing historical real world mishpat. [Note 1]
It is important to get included in the pact with the Creator:
D’varim – ‘Deuteronomy’ – 31.12:
Haqeheil (congregate—verb root of Qehillah) ha-am, the men, the women, and the tots; and your ger who is within your gates; so that they will shm’a [hearken] and so that they will learn, and they will revere Y–H your Elohim, and will keep shomeir [watchguard]′ to do all of the matters of this Torah.”
Here, Torah makes it explicit that ha-am [the people] includes gerim—with the proviso that they are within the gates of Pharisee-heritage Israel. Remember one cannot become a geir by mere self-proclamation. One needs to accept the b’rit that haSheim made with Am Yisraeil. The most ancient mishpat outlines that the minimum requirements in order to be accepted as a geir toshav was observing the Noakhide laws as they were defined in the first century. [List of the laws one is required to observe: Link].
This includes subordinate oneself to a legitimate Beit-Din and declaring that one will do ones utmost to keep the mitzwot of Torah non-selectively all of ones lifetime, as they are defined in Torah including mishpat. Subordination doesn’t mean slavery or accepting and addition to Torah, which Torah prohibits – D’varim 4:2, 13:1. It means that one observes the mitzwot according to Torah, which includes the most ancient mishpat-decisions decided by the beit-din. If you study the links I provided you’ll find out that haSheim requires of us to observe mishpat.
A large proportion of non-Jews calling themselves “B’nei Noah’” all ask the same question: Is keeping the Seven Noakhide Laws sufficient for the non-Jew to have a place in ha-olam haba – Realms of the Heavens?
Christians believe that they will enter the Realms of the Heavens despite that they are rejecting the pact defined in Torah which defines Am [People of] Israel.
Reading even just this one passage alone should be sufficient to make it clear that the answer is unequivocally: No!
Keeping the Seven Noakhide laws yields the B’rit [Pact] of Noakh, which is: no more Mabul [flood].
That’s all! There’s no other promise associated with the b’rit of Noakh!
All of the opportunities for non-Jews occur solely in the path of Rut, becoming recognized by legitimate Judaism (via a legitimate Pharisee-heritage Beit-Din [Judaic court]) as a geir(ah). Rut subsequently converted and became a Jewess proven by the fact that king David was a Jew. [note 3].
D’varim ['Deuteronomy'] 6:4-9, 11:13f, chapter 26 and onwards, wa-Yiqra ['Leviticus'] 5:14-20 [nephesh - speaking of every individual, not only the nephesh of a Jew], Yekhezeqeil ['Ezekiel'] chapter 18 and many more verses in Hebrew outlines what the Creator requires of us in order for us to receive His forgiveness, which is necessary to enter into ha olam haba.
I recommend you all reading this to start doing your utmost to observe the mitzwot of Torah including mishpat non-selectively – and the Creator will in His loving kindness bestow His forgiveness; and you will all get an immensely meaningful and real relationship with Him.

Permalink Reply by Ted Walther on March 26, 2011 at 10:15am Anders, you are wrong on so many levels, it is exhausting just thinking of where to begin.
Torah has been with man since Adam. Torah is for all 70 human races. Noone needs to "engraft" into Judah, Jewry, or Israel to be accepted by the Creator.
And as for self proclamation, ANYONE has the right to join themselves to Israel if they so desire. Torah says so. But God made man into 70 nations, all with their own inheritance and blessings. And one Torah to rule them. Because YHWH is good, the incentives to remain in your birth nation is just as good as joining Israel.
If everyone ran off to get engrafted into Israel, that would be the sin of Babel all over again. YHWH wants 70 nations on earth, not just one.
Ted,
“Torah has been with man since Adam. Torah is for all 70 human races. Noone needs to "engraft" into Judah, Jewry, or Israel to be accepted by the Creator.”
All of mankind is indeed required to keep Torah non-selectively to their utmost. However, everyone except Noakh and later on the descendants of Avraham rejected Torah; and the Creator did not make a pact with the other nations.
Ted wrote: “And as for self proclamation, ANYONE has the right to join themselves to Israel if they so desire. Torah says so.
Yes! But it must be done according to Torah including mishpat (described in my previous post).
Ted wrote: “But God made man into 70 nations, all with their own inheritance and blessings. And one Torah to rule them. Because YHWH is good, the incentives to remain in your birth nation is just as good as joining Israel.”
I’ll comment that below.
Ted wrote: “If everyone ran off to get engrafted into Israel, that would be the sin of Babel all over again. YHWH wants 70 nations on earth, not just one.”
That is an assumption with no foundation in Tana’’kh. The only transgressions that man can do are those find in the Torah – i.e. breaching any of the about 613 mitzwot. And Torah does not prohibit all men of mankind to join Am Yisraeil. However, looking around it is clear that the vast majority of mankind have no desire to serve HaSheim by observing His mitzwot, including mishpatim.
Furthermore, the Jews are not a race. This is demonstrated by that any Jew who with a high hand transgress Torah is excluded from the b’rit that haSheim made with Am Yisraeil; and if he/she doesn’t make t’shuvah, his/her descendants born after he/she was excluded from Am Yisraeil’s b’rit with haSheim are non-Jews [Documentation: Link]
Ted wrote: “nations, all with their own inheritance and blessings”
What blessings are you referring to? There is no promise of ha-olam haba (Realms of the Heavens) outside of the b’rit that haSheim made with Am Yisraeil; and neither is their any promise of kipur.
Definition kipur: A wiping-on (an Torah-transgression-blotting agent) or wiping-off, sopping-up or blotting-up (of an Torah-transgression)
As stipulated in Devarim ["Deuteronomy"] 6:4-9,11:13-21 one is required to keep all of the directives of Torâh′ to one’s utmost—viz., “with all one’s heart, psyche and might [lit. "very"]“—”for the purpose of extending your days and the days of your children… like the days of the heavens above the earth” (i.e., eternal life). Torah specificies that this includes mishpat by the legitimate batei din. This includes the requirement in Torah including mishpat that a person should join Am [People of] Yisraeil – Israel.
The statement of yours, “Because YHWH is good, the incentives to remain in your birth nation is just as good as joining Israel.”, can’t be found anywhere in Tana’’ch. Yes י—ה is good, however, this does not logically imply the rest of your sentence.
Yeshayahu 66:14 and forward read that the Creator will punish goyim [peoples] whom eat swine and mouse. Some persons say that the verse doesn’t speak about that. You”ll need to read the verse in Hebrew according to etymology – the original meaning of the words – and the cantillation signs.
Look up all the overwhelming Scriptures of the word ‘goyim’ and you will find out what will happen to those that are not included in Am Yisraeil – the People of Israel; in the Tana’’kh denoted as ‘goyim’.
HaSheim requires of mankind to keep Torah according to mishpat. Without any interaction with the Jewish community a person don’t know of how to keep Torah according to real world historical and logical mishpat, and thus can’t fulfil the Will of haSheim. Furthermore, it is a mitzwah of Torah to settling Yisraeil. HaSheim requires mankind to do her utmost to keep Torah non-selectively; and in order for a non-Jew to settle in Yisraeil, conversion to become a Jew is required, according to the laws of the Israeli government. It is important however to not settle Yisraeil if one doesn’t do ones utmost in keeping Torah according to mishpat.
Here are more proofs that haSheim requires of mankind to become grafted into Am Yisraeil:
“And the stranger who approaches shall die” (see also b’-Mid’bar′ [Numbers]1.51; 3.10, 38)
A person not included into Am Yisraeil is according to Torah defined as a ‘zar’.
Quote slightly edited by me:
“Then there is the זר (zar) who claims to keep the Seven Noakhide Laws, knowing neither that the earliest documented treatise on the Seven Noakhide Laws was laid down by the Beit Din ha-N’tzârim′ ("Noachide Laws," Encyclopedia Judaica 12.1190) nor that the Seven Noakhide Laws were interpreted by a Beit-Din—which meant that the Noakhide Law requiring promulgation of courts of law implies subjugating oneself to an Orthodox Beit-Din.
No זר is keeping the Seven Noakhide Laws [or the about 613 mitzvot] unless he or she is doing so under the auspices and guidance of a Pharisee-heritage Beit-Din—in which case he or she is a גר (geir), not a זר (zar)! Those who check the Bible and ancient documentation will discover that the notion that "B’nei’-No’akh" have a place in heaven is a modern rabbinic innovation, originally designed to allay persecution from the Church. Torâh′ declares explicitly concerning itself that "You shall neither add to it nor diminish from it" (D’vârim′13.1). Rabbis have no more authority to contradict Torâh′ than anyone else. Those who trust in modern rabbinic innovation place their eternal welfare in the hands of men instead of in the Word of י--ה.
In the parashah of b’Midbar, Torah declares explicitly, repeatedly and unequivocally, that the זר (zar) who approaches shall die. There are Torâh-solutions, which I will explain to you shortly; but the true solution isn't predicated on the premise that י--ה lied about this.
If you haven't been recognized by a Pharisee-heritage Beit-Din then Torah defines you as a זר (zâr, male stranger) or זרה (zârâh, female stranger)—both included in עבודה זרה (strange service = idolatry).
Torâh provides for a Pharisee-heritage Beit-Din to recognize a worthy candidate who is a זר (zâr, male stranger) or זרה (zârâh, female stranger) and either educate and transform him or her into a Jew(ess) or, if he or she cannot qualify (usually due to a marital situation), upgrade him or her to a גר (geir) or גרה (geirâh′), respectively. Talmud confirms that the geir is included within the community—and b'rit—of Yis'raeil. By contrast, Torâh defines the זר (zâr, male stranger) in Avodâh’ Zârâh’, not, l’-havdil′ [to distinguish], Torah. (Further details are found in our Khavruta.)” [Quote]
The “b’rakhâh′ of Avraham′ on כל משפחת האדמה (kol mishp’khot ha-adâmâh; of every family of ha-adamah)… This does NOT read B'râkhâh′ of Avraham′ on זרים (zarim, also meaning gentiles), נכרים (nâkhrim, also meaning gentiles) or גויים (goy•im′, also meaning gentiles). The phrase mishp’khot ha-adamah′ isn't synonymous with "gentiles." [Quote]

Shalom Stacie,
I am glad that you found it interesting; and that you are trying to understand your place in the world and are ‘looking for direction in Torah’!
“ What is your understanding of Isa 56:6-7?
Those verses are very interesting!
I will start by translating the verses. As I mentioned in another thread is very important not to rely on a translation – which all contain errors - but to learn how to translate the Hebrew text by oneself [Some recommendations of resources: Link]
Some of the words used in Y’shayahu 56:6-7 are:
Nilwah: he was accompanied, escorted; the niphal′ of לָוָה (lawah; he accompanied, escorted—cf. Klein’s Etymological Dictionary of Hebrew, p. 348-9 [Definition]
“Lâwâh′ implies much more than simple “joining”; and is certainly the antithesis of being integrated, unchanged, into something. Lâwâh′ implies gradual, but active, assimilation into Israel; the abandonment of any elements of one’s previous life and culture that conflict with Torâh′, complemented by the replacing of the abandoned elements through undertaking the life practice and culture of Torâh and Israel, i.e. properly interfacing with the Jewish people (Israel) faithful to the example of Rut (1.16) —through the Jewish culture: the Hebrew language, Torâh, Jewish music, Jewish chanting of Ta•na”kh′, etc.” [Quote]
Nilwaim: Plural masc. of the verb nilwah.
Neikhar – foreigner. According to Torah the neikhar is outside of the Tana’’ch-definied Am Yisraeil’s b’rit [pact] with י—ה. Just like the ’zar’- stranger, he is counted among the goyim. Regarding the fate of the goyim, see my last post.
B’rit: a formal pact, treaty or alliance [More information]
Qodesh – Holiness as it is definied by Torah. A holy lifestyle is a lifestyle in which one does his/her utmost to keep the mitzwot of Torah non-selectively.
Tephilah- prayer. Read also Mishlei Shlomoh [’Proverbs’] 28:9. Tephilah without Torah-observance is an toeivah – abomination.
Amim – kindreds. This is not the same as goyim.
[The semi-colons I have placed according to the cantillation-constraints.]
Y’shayahu 56:6-7: And the foreigners [lit. the sons of the foreigner] that nilwaim upon י—ה to serve/minister Him; and to love the name of י—ה; to become servants unto/belonging to Him all that watchguard Shabbat from profaning/defiling it; and they bind tight to My b’rit.
[Verse 7]. I will bring them to My qodesh mountain and I will cause them to rejoice in My House of tephilah; their ascendances [-sacrifices] and their sacrifices for acceptance/will/desire/favor on My altar because of My House; house of tephilah will it be called for all of the amim.
This was my best effort to translate those verses. I am continually studying and learning Hebrew grammar. Now remember to not rely on my translation or anyone else’s translation, but learn to translate the Hebrew text yourselves.
The third beit ha-miqdash [‘temple’] is necessarily spiritual [Proof from Tana’’kh].
“Similarly, Har-Beit-ha-Sheim – the “Third Temple” is not a physical dwelling – an impossibility for the non-physical Omnipresent Creator – but, rather, a household of n’phâshot in which ha-Sheim dwells in the hearts of each and every nëphësh who does his or her utmost to keep Torâh, the precious stones –n’phâshot, all “cut without hands” – comprising Har-Beit-ha-Sheim.”
Y’shayahu 56:6-7 is a prophecy of that foreigners – whom belong to the goyim – will nilwaim upon י—ה and His b’rit with Am Yisraeil [People of Israel]. I outlined the requirements of how to do this in my previous posts.
I recommend you all to nilwaim upon י—ה and His b’rit with Am Yisraeil! It requires of a person that he/she starts doing his/her utmost to keep the mitzwot of Torah non-selectively according to mishpat. It doesn’t require and actually prohibits slavery to any man. It requires servantship to י—ה. Study the resources that I have provided to learn more about the requirements [See also this article: Link].
י—ה don’t want a Torah-rejector to pray in His House, since He regards tephilah by a Torah-transgressor to be an abomination: Mishlei Shlomoh [‘Proverbs’] 28:9. Actually it is impossibile for a Torah-rejector to enter His spiritual House.
A person must do his/her utmost to observe the mitzwot of Torah non-selectively in order to get access to His house – a spiritual ‘building’ [Documentation below]. Read more about the requirements of living a Torah-lifestyle and why this is required in order to be able to have a relationship with the Creator in this article: Link
I hope this helps!
All the best and I wish you all success in your continued journey, including choosing the right path!
Shalom,
Anders Branderud
