I just received this message from Simcha Jacobovici in Israel, just before Shabbat, and I wanted to share it with all of you...

Hi,
On the news last night I watched some of the best and brightest in Israel being buried, teens and officers in their 20s. Meanwhile, the United Nations was busy condemning Israel and trying to rescue Hamas by imposing a ceasefire. Synagogues were attacked in Sweden, the UK, Belgium and France. What kind of world are we living in? 8,000 missiles have been fired at southern Israel over the last couple of years. What nation in the world would tolerate a single missile? Would Canada allow Hamilton to be bombed daily without any response? Would the US? Would any country? Meanwhile, Israel has tolerated 8,000 missiles. In the last few weeks, an old people’s home was hit, a high school and two kindergartens. The only reason that we haven’t seen mass carnage is because we don’t use our kids as shields. In the high school, a decision was made at 4:30am to cancel classes and at 9:30am a missile landed through the roof right into one of the classes. There would have been over 30 children killed if the fateful decision had not been made. And yet, the United Nations is busy protecting the missile launchers. Not only are they shooting at kindergartens, they are shooting from kindergartens so that if we respond they can have photo ops with CNN with their own children as props. On the one side, you have a democratic society that wants nothing else but to be left alone. On the other side, you have a fundamentalist group dedicated to mass suicide funded by Iran that’s preparing a nuclear arsenal for us. Last week, Hamas murdered 35 Fatah leaders and maimed another 75 as collaborators. They attack Jewish children, they execute their own opposition, they oppress women and they flog homosexuals. And yet, this week Annie Lennox and Bianca Jagger demonstrated against Israel and for Hamas. What’s wrong with this picture? What’s wrong with the world?
Shabbat Shalom from Israel,
Simcha
