Shalom and blessings to all,

I had an idea, so I thought I'd bring it up here to see what you all thought and to see if there was enough interest.

I'm a newbie to vegetarianism. I was wondering if perhaps there were any women (and perhaps men) that would be interested in sharing recipes. They don't have to be great elaborate and goumet recipes. They might be something you would prepare as a fast easy meal...one the other hand, it might be something more elaborate.

Perhaps there could be 2 groups: 1 for vegetarians and 1 for meat eaters. That way, it would be easier to find a suitable recipe. Anyway, just a thought. Any takers?

Blessings,
Ally

I think this would be tov. Maybe you could even ask for a certain type of recipe category sometimes, like squash dishes, slaws, Mediterranean, etc. or if anyone is in need of a tov recipe in a certain category they could let us know.

Tami
Hi Tammy,

Sounds good. Please join the group and post any suggestions you have there. I have a few recipes I'd like to post, but I got them some time ago from other web sites; they're not my own. Do you think I would be doing something wrong to post them as long as I didn't take credit for them?

Hi Ronald,

Do I have your permission to post this in the group (or you could if you wanted - either way)?

Thanks,
Ally

Thanks Ally - Great idea!

I personally love Mediterranean foods from all the countries bording that region.

Here is a quick lunch/supper idea which we had recently (not an official recipe, just my idea).
Sorry, no exact ingredient quantities!

Roasted vegetable Panini:

All, or some of these:

- Peppers (red, yellow, orange - all three or just one kind) - cut in broad sections
- Zucchini (and or summer squash) - cut on diagonal
- Carrots cut long, on diagonal
- Celery cut long and fairly narrow
- Onion, sliced

Toss vegetables in olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt and some Herbs de Provence.
Roast in oven (around 375F) until softened and slightly caramelized.

Dressing to spread on Chiabatta buns or Panini bread:

- Mayonaise with a clove of fresh, finely minced garlic
- Maybe some dijon mustard
- Or some balsamic vinegar mixed in.

Assemble sandwiches (can put on some cheese also - Brie, or Mozzarella goes well, but obviously not for vegans).

Grill in Panini maker until bread is toasted, and cheese melted (if using cheese).

Salad:

- Mesculan greens mix
- some cranberries or raisins
- sliced almonds
- green onions - cut long and thin so that they curl up slightly
- thinly sliced Granny Smith apple
- crumbled blue cheese (optional)

Dressing for salad:

- about 10ml dijon mustard
- about 5ml honey
- a little crushed garlic
- whisk in some olive oil
- whisk in some red/white wine vinegar (double the quantity to the olive oil)
- lightly coat salad and serve with grilled sandwiches.
Welcome Sharon,

Thank you for your recipe...sounds yummy!

blessings,
Ally

You don't have to ask; a virtuous woman considers a field then buys it and from her earnings plants a vineyard.
