"Love your neighbor as yourself"
Since this appears twice in Leviticus 19:18,34

What does it mean to love (AHB) yourself?
This has to come first before you can love your neighbor, right?
Good point, Jason! We don't know how to love our neighbor until we know how to love ourself. No matter our faults, HaShem made us in His image and gave us life...that is all the reason we need to love ourself.

Ross,

Thank you for posting this. Reciting the Shema evening and morning, concentrating on the words and on HaShem are life changing. I feel that if we say no other liturgy, we should say the Shema.

Hey Jason,
Here is my take on love yourself. Just replace the word love with commit. Be as committed to your neighbor as you are committed to yourself. When you are hungry you eat, so when your neighbor is hungry, you feed him. When you are cold you clothe yourself, so when your neighbor is cold you clothe her. When you are lonely you seek company, so when your neighbpr is lonely, you provide company. See what I mean? To love your neighbor as you love yourself is to be as committed to their well being as you are to your own.

One of the most beautiful and peaceful things in my life is to listen each night as my wife leads our children in the bedtime Sh'ma. The children learn it at a very early age because they hear it every night.

Prov 22:6
6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

May I humbly submit this;

I posted this Shemah study a couple days ago, very informative, and truthful, for all to read. GEO

In the old testament the words "The LORD" in all capitols, covers (replaces) the Tetragrammaton, over 6300 times, sometimes referred to as; Shem Hameforash, "The Name". The adversary knows most assuredly if he can separate a person from God's true name he has effectively separated that person from GOD! GEO.

This is a trick question isn't it Super Dave ?

I would say that , he never said anything, because he never existed.

He is a fictional character in a religion fabricated by the Roman Flavians, to encourage the Jews to be more submissive.

The most profound evidence for the gospels being a Roman fabrication is Matt 1:8.

" Jehoram , THE FATHER of uzziah" , the writers could have said "GREAT-GRANDFATHER", from 2 Chronicles 26:1, Uzziah's actual father is AMAZIAH. The Flavians decided to just go ahead and force the Roman 14 ( ancient Rome had 14 provinces) , instead of keeping the original 18 .

In the last 2 sets of 14 , JECONIAH is counted twice , giving the last set of 14 only a 13 count because Jeconiah was already counted from the previous set.

...but I digress. Most likely the answer would be number 1 .
