I am a 27, single guy who has a lot of free time on my hands... I have looked into volunteering... I done some studies... I just feel the need to impact more people in my area. Any suggestions?

I wish I had some suggestions for you, but I am too far past 27 and single, but you have a wonderful resource right there at your fingertips in Columbia, SC with Web and his group. I am sure some of them could give you some good ideas, so don't lose hope. Glad to see you have joined the SWW!
I agree with Betty Jason. hang in there and don't lose hope. If you search you will find! Join with us and you'll see what a wonderful family of people we have here. Bless you. Catherine
Shalom Jason,

All of the people of Israel will have jobs in the Kingdom. Some will be plague dispensers upon the lands of those who don't come up for the Festival before YHWH. Others will have less fun filled jobs.

My point is this... We all have a talent or talents that we need to identify in ourselves. Figure out what your talent(s) is/are and develop it/them.

Maybe I should elaborate... I get off work every day at 3:30, and I am bored.
Hey Jason, Welcome to SWW. It's kind of hard to come up with suggestions without knowing a little more about you ,for example -How you found SWW, are you studying Torah?, What are your hobbies, do you have friends / family close by? (I am the mother of 6, ages 17 - 38 .We have 2 sons ages 21, and almost 23. Hence the "mother henly questions")I have some ideas. I'd really like to hear more about what you're currently involved with and what is going on around you.I think sometimes the answer is very near to us .Your desire to be a light to others surely pleases our heavenly Father and I know that He will guide you. I look forward to hearing more from you.
Blessings,
Sherry Cole
Jason, when I met you in Charlotte you showed me a notebook filled with some of your bible study notes. You expressed a desire to study Hebrew. How bout filling some of your spare time with that? Glad to see that you joined by the way!
Jason,

Not sure what you have in your area.. if I had spare time, I would do it at a children's hospital. Volunteers can work in the child life centers...playing with children who are ill in the center or going to the rooms to bring toys to children that are too sick to go to the center. It is wonderful to help the children forget about their situation for a while.

Also volunteering at a home for the aged...many are so lonely.

Jason,

Have you tried praying about this? I understand your need - keep in mind though that sometimes the greatest impact we have are in small acts of kindness each day. Kindness is such rare quality. Maybe you are already impacting people each day without realising it.

Keep walking the walk!

Catherine
Jason,

What about Americorps? http://www.americorps.gov/

Also, working with addicts is very "enlighting and satifying" for me.

Just some thoughts.

Great idea you have there to change the world for the better. An old teacher from Israel once said "the poor will always be with you" and truer words were never spoken.
