Can you expand upon the horse and the donkey prophecy as it relates to the Messiah?

James, please tell more about this if don't mind. I think it's quite important.

horse and donkey?
I thought I had read in the Chapter on The Messiah's that the Hebrews expected the Messiah to come on a horse, and that a false Messiah would come riding a donkey. I could have dreamed all this. Hopefully someone on this blog, maybe James, can clarify.
Dear construction worker, would you invite me to be your friend. I can't find my way around this site and I want to tag you.

I read it this AM and now I cannot find it!!

I will find it!!
I posted this is the wrong place a moment ago. The verse is in Zekarya 9:9

from Scriptures version:

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Tziyon! Shout, O daughter of Yerushalayim! See, your Sovereign is coming to you, He is righteous and endowed with deliverance, humble nand riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Valerie, I re-read the chapter on Messiahs myself last night and now I can't find. Perhaps I had dreamed it!
Dear construction worker, I think you what you are saying is what I read somewhere in Jame's book. Would the rulers of the Temple have discussed this issue when they saw him riding in on a donkey? Would that likely have been part of the debate at the trial before the Sanhedran.
Yes I hear you, but nonetheless I believe it's relevant to the Messiahs chapter in James' book. The point I am trying to make is that if Jesus was familiar with this "figurative" description then he chose purposefully to be considered as a false Messiah by literally choosing to ride into Jerusalem on a donkey, fully aware of what this would lead to. He knew that they (the Jews) would be forever seeing but not perceiving and as such he could accomplish his mission with the players all playing their parts beautifully and all for the benefit of the children on the lost tribes whom he called the lost sheep of Israel. This was the beginning of the redemption plan.

Hez, this is excellent and I am totally tracking with you, but you haven't yet finished....you have much more to say. Will you continue?

Always more than happy to contribute, but this is a multi-person discussion. What else do you want to examine?

Have you read Thirty Three Candles?
I reread the book and can not find a reverence to "the horse and the donkey prophecy".....but it was worth the reread!...lol

Dave, I think it was in the footnotes. Have you read The Jesus Dynasty? For me, it's a much more interesting read although RAF prompted me to really take a new look at Abraham, his initial journey out into the desert and how might have interpreted the dream/vision that he received. Why did he see those animals cut in half and laid next to each other, why did he interpret the fire as divine and at what point did he become aware of the divinity within his own nature. Abraham found himself to be a friend of God and this realization found expression with everyone else he met. He is therefore the personification of kindness and blesses the stranger as a friend.
