About the Synagogue Without Walls

This all began in 2005, when I started a small Bible study in an abandoned synagogue in Saint Francisville, Louisiana after nearly 2 decades of study. I called this Bible Study - Roots of Faith.

The Roots of Faith congregation is a group of people that have come together for the purpose of searching for the “good Way” among the ancient paths(Jeremiah 6:16). We come from different places and may not agree when it comes to our beliefs. We are however, respectful of one another and believe that truth is reached by honest dialogue and proven by the teachings found within the pages of the Hebrew Bible.

Over the past several years we have grown. Most of the growth however has been global and not local. We have found that the internet allows us to link up with people from literally around the world who are on the same path. The local congregation is now opening its fellowship to the world via the internet in what we call the “Synagogue Without Walls”. This has led to the creation of a cyber community with members who are literally from all over the world.

There is no charter, or approved “Articles of Faith”. There is no formal process required to “join” our fellowship. The Synagogue Without Walls is intended to be a place of meeting for anyone that believes in the One God of Israel and seeks to live according to the principles of the Hebrew Bible.

In my Quest for the true Biblical Faith, I repeatedly meet people from all over with similar stories. Most of us have felt that we were all alone at times. The more Hebraic we become in our orientation, the less we fit in with those around us. With the emerging Hebrew Roots movement, many feel that something incredible is taking place. God is awakening his people - "One from a city, two from a family" as the prophet Jeremiah put it (Jeremiah 3:14).

My vision is to connect this group of people through this Synagogue Without Walls. Consider making this your synagogue. With your help and active participation, we can meet the needs of people around the world.

The Synagogue Without Walls surely has a grand mission.  A place to discuss differences, a place to learn from Torah what we must learn to make this world a better place in which to live and  an opportunity to put everything we've been taught, on the table, sort it out and compare it with The Hebrew Scriptures and learn, learn, and learn.  I would like to know just one thing if you have time -  Just where does Jesus of Nazareth fit in to the overall scene?  I couldn't find a doctrinal listing so I have to ask that's how I learn.  Thanks for your response and efforts.  Your brother in life.

I am very new to the messianic movement and have a desire that is not quenched. I have known for a long time (at least) nine or ten months that Yeshua Messiah was leading me in an unknown direction at the time. I have 2 friends 1 other that is also new to the Messianic movement however there is another brother who is more experienced in this. We are doing studies and that is also how I found this site. So to the One True Creator may I bless HIM all the days that I am alive.

Our family has studied the Hebrew Scriptures well over 20 yrs. We have grown from fundamental Christians (SDA/WWCG) through Messianic beliefs to finally holding to the Tanach only. We have held solely to the Hebrew Scriptures well over 10 yrs.

My hubby works between both N.O. and Baton Rouge and we usually find ourselves in or around St. Francisville a couple times a year (Port Hudson/Jackson Crossroads). Like many, we are limited to cyber-fellowship and enjoy discussing the Scriptures with people from many backgrounds. It is exhilarating to see so many people returning to Yahoveh from the "four corners of the earth" and seeking his righteous paths.

We are seeing more people embrace our 'real' roots. At the National Day of Prayer here in S. Pittsburg TN one lady asked if I would blow the Shofar we just happened to have it along. What a blessing.. you could 'hear' the spirit in the horn...repent be blessed Yah loves you! L Rozar Shalom
