Explicating My Point of Veiw

The first thing that I know to be true is that there is a G-d and he is one. The second thing that I know to be true is that HaShem (G-d) is radically devoted to his glory and to the prosperity of His people. The third thing that I know to be true is that G-d sent his instructions (hebrew: Torah) for the way in which He is to be worshiped, for the way his people should conduct themselves, for the way in which His people should act in the world. It is in the first truth that I find my existence, the second that I find my purpose, and the third that I find my path. Once I was a Christian. But now my beliefs about who G-d is, what is important to Him, and the nature of the condition of man has changed. Now my beliefs are so radically different from Christianity, that I cannot truly be counted as someone in he church. I believe that sin is transgressing the commandments of G-d. I believe that his commandments are found in His Torah. Thus I believe that righteousness is found in keeping the Torah. This was my first break with Christianity. Christianity ignores the Torah. It has replaced the seven feasts of HaShem with two holidays adapted from pagan feast days. It has ignored Kushrut (Kosher), the things that G-d commanded his people to eat, the way in which G-d wished these thing to be eaten and prepared. It has rejected the Biblical axiom: YHVH is one, the idea that G-d is a mono-personal, transcendent, singularity, who is jealous and shares his glory with no one. This disparity between Church doctrine and what I know to be true is why I cannot be called a Christian. I have not rejected that Yeshua (Jesus) is the messiah although I am taking a second look at his messiahship. I do not believe that he is the incarnation of G-d. I do not believe that he came to start a new religion, and I believe that if he came to make it so that G-d's people would no longer have to observe his Torah, then I believe that he is a false-prophet and his execution was just. This is my point of view. This is my walk.

Welcome Forrest.....I agree, all that wonder are not lost!...what an interesting point of view. I do not believe that Yeshua tried to start a new religion. I look at it more of "ending" religion.........and living Torah. The ancient path that few find.

peace,
dave

Hi Forrest,
Welcome to SWW. What an amazing account of your journey toward the ancient path!
Are you an Auburn fan? My son Ben,(21) and I were planting orange and blue pansies today and he asked why I was planting an Auburn themed garden.(He's an avid LSU fan) By the way , I thought the blue and orange looked good together. I hope to get to know you better and hear how our faithful heavenly Abba is directing your path.
Blessings,
Sherry
