Rob ...
Good to see you here. You will find yourself among fellow seekers on this site. Your quotation of Geza Vermes above is very telling ... "Yet on reading the original message, thinking and honest members of the various Christian faiths may (should?) feel the need for a thorough re-examination of the fundamentals of their belief, ethics and piety, a reconsideration which may demand a complete doctrinal restructuring, a new 'reformation'." .. Yes, this is the 'new reformation' and we are excited to be part of it.
Love your picture Rob! I am very glad to hear that my writings have meant good to you. I hope you will continue to spread far and wide as the opportunity opens. Welcome, welcome!
Loved reading your bio, Rob. You had mentioned to me that it is surprising there are not more on this simple Path. I truly think there are many more. We are only just beginning to find each other.
Shalom Rob,
thank you very much in giving us a overview of your journey thus far.
The search for truth is often the admittance of error.
My personal journey started in Sicily where I was born. Obviously I was born and bred as a Catholic and quite an observant one. I was an alter boy and knew the entire mass in Latin.
I returned to Italy to further my studies in architecture as a teenager.
During my 4 years stay in Italy, my eyes were opened to the corruption within the CC with the mafia laundering its money through the Vatican Bank, the P2 and the Lockheed scandal.
Disillusioned I became an atheist communist. I returned to Australia to the utter disappointment of my family having reneged on my spiritual traditions.
10 years later I returned to the Christian fold as an evangelical pentecostal.
This only lasted 10 months as I was constantly arguing with the pastors over their false teachings on Israel and G-d's covenant with His people.
I left Christianity some 12 years ago . I now attend a Jewish Orthodox synagogue and all my friends are Jewish and Israelis.
I follow HaShem's Torah keeping Shabbat, the Biblical festivals and Kosher to the best of my ability. I follow Yeshua not JC. I worship the ONE G-d.
The Torah is HaShem's revelation to mankind and He positioned the prophetic writings alongside in order to redeem the world through His nation who would bring the anointed one " Mashiach".
Unfortunately the Catholic church in my opinion is not part of this redemptive process. Its history is tarnished with the blood of innocent Jewish people.
My personal belief is that my ancestors were "Marranos" who converted under duress during the Inquisition. In 1493 there were some 100,000 Jews living in Sicily. During the reign of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella , Sicily was under the dominion of the Spanish monarchy.
Yeshua said that " Salvation (Yeshua) is of Yehuda ( Jew).
Rob, I like my beer chilled. Your shout.
Shalom
JOE.
Hi Rob,
To answer your question about how I linked up with SWW, (I like that abreviation - I'm not the world's fastest typist) read Ross's intro on the main page . My husband Dave and I were part of the first group of people that started meeting at the old Synagogue with Ross. Since then it's been quite a journey! Check out the roots of faith website if you haven't already. There are many good links. You can join us live also- look under the heading at the top of the page labeled webcasts.Saturday we will be on paltalk as well as mogulus. You can comment/ask questions during the broadcast. We're a pretty "laid back" but earnestly seeking the truth bunch. I'm not sure what you mean when you asked "do you find support in faith elsewhere?" Maybe you could elaborate on that a little. As far as geography, St. Francisville is a small historic town on the Mississippi River about 40 miles north of the capital of Louisiana, Baton Rouge. There are many old plantation homes and historic buildings with huge moss-draped live oak trees.
By all means , keep in contact!
Shabbat shalom,
Sherry
Cheers Rob! Nice to meet you! Where in the UK are you located. My husband, Dave, and I have both been to London and we loved it. We may have to come back sometime in 09, maybe we can get together. I love Matisyahu, perhaps you would be interested in a recording we are woking on with some of the folks here - John Carlson, Tracy Osbourne, Sherry and Glenn and hopefully more.
Yep, another Matisyahu fan here...in fact I got to hear him in NYC right when he first started. No CD yet, no backup band, nothing - and he was still fantastic! Not sure when he'll be on your side of the pond, but I'll let you know if I hear anything.
Hi Rob!
There are a lot of us Matisyahu fans out here. My nephew got to meet him when he was doing a concert in Austin, Texas, and it was a highlight of his life!!! It's so great to "see" you here! Am looking forward to hearing about your journey on this Ancient Path back to our Father.
Tally ho old chap,
Great to have a pommie on board. Only joking.... from the wild colonial boy from the land down under.
I hope the beer you are drinking is cold:-)
I also love the hip hop / reggae / rapping Matisyahu.
How did you find Synagogue without walls?
Shalom JOE.

Rob, I am a big fan of Matisyahu as well. Have you tried to google his concert schedule?
