Raised in a traditional Southern Baptist Church
Resisted joining (getting dunked) I could never explain this…..as it seemed to others that I was just a rebel, thus I am lost.
Spent entire youth living in a daze, while making TONS of bad decisions.
Met and was challenged by Sherry to live a Godly life. Sherry and I embarked on a “search” of doing and finding out what we were supposed to do or accomplish in what we assumed was a Christian walk. I was introduced to “spirit filled” believers for the first time , which convinced me that something isn’t right! But as this sincere desire for this truth that makes us free continued, we found ourselves settling down and hoping that we will adjust to a typical family going to church, raising a family and be somewhat normal.
Years go by, and church after church either fell or withered on the vine. Even to the point of trying to “start a new church” HA! The last church that I plugged into was my last hope. I had decided that this was it! No more!……….it fell apart. Strangely out of nowhere, a fellow gardener friend of mine mentioned that a friend was starting a study group that may interest me……
Sherry and I visit this study…its in a old synagogue in historic St Francisville, I am greeted with “Shabbat Shalom” from a person that seemed not to be that concerned with building a church….but talking about the God OF jesus…..I was floored! Then all the real work began! Dreams restart, work made sense, life returned! The pruning of my soul (lies from my ancestors). In what I had been told and had told many (the law) was now the source of my true freedom! What a day!
I truly enjoy meeting any and all fellow seekers on this network. The search is over….and at the same time just starting.
