Relocation Expenses

As many of you know, Roots of Faith is currently moving into a rented space due to renovations on Temple Sinai Synagogue. The move is scheduled for next week, beginning on Tuesday.

Members of the local congregation have worked extremely hard to find a place that is suitable, while not putting us into a position of always needing to ask for financial assistance. We are committed to providing solid biblical teaching at no charge. Our work is solely supported by contributions from those who have the means to do so. This support allows us to offer live streaming of our weekly Sabbath services, podcasts of the weekly teachings, and a personalized Social network for our growing global congregation – all at no charge to those who want to be a part.

The rent on the new building will cost us $600 per month. All other bills will remain approximately the same as our current operating expenses are at Temple Sinai Synagogue. We have had to come up with some deposits associated with the move that have put a strain on us and for this we are asking for some additional help. We have estimated these deposits to be around $1,300. We had to pay one additional month’s rent at $600 and one year’s liability insurance at $685 in order to move in. We will also have some deposits for electricity, cable Internet (much faster than our current DSL connection), and some paint supplies etc. These set up costs are a one time need, but the rent will be a recurring bill. I have already received a couple of pledges in various amounts to help us and am sending this out in hopes that others may be able to do the same.

We set up a fundraiser through PayPal and posted this on the Synagogue Without Walls site (www.rootsoffaith.net) as well as our main site (www.rootsoffaith.org). I am encouraging people to use this if they want to contribute to the relocation expenses so that everyone can see how well we are progressing towards the goal of $1,300. We also have a support page (www.rootsoffaith.org/support) where you can make one-time contributions on line or sign up for a recurring contribution amount through PayPal. We also have our mailing address on that page for those who prefer to send a check or money order by mail.

Remember – our work is supported through the generous contributions of those who believe in what we are doing. No amount is too small. We also realize that many do not have the resources to help financially. This is the reason that we offer all of our teaching material and services at no charge. Those that can help and are willing to do so, make this work possible for everyone.
