A journey begins with a single step
Mine began with steps retraced
With truths my parents never faced
Backwards seeking
Onward looking

Promises given and Promises kept
Your commands I found in my search
Torah teaching and renewing faith that had been

My steps were measured before my life began
now only in your mitvoth can my life be
fulfilled

Dear friends and family at SWW. This is a poem I wrote recently(at 2am) I hope you enjoy it. Also,I just want to take this opportunity to update y'all on our progress toward getting to Israel.. We have sold our house, actually lease-purchased it, to our daughter and new son-in-law and have tickets to leave on Jan. 31,2010. We will be arriving in Tel Aviv on Feb 1 and from there will be going Merhavia. Our purpose there will be to serve as Host and Hostess to the people who come there for different reasons. Merhavia is a Caboutz, (please excuse my spelling) whos focus is "hospatality". So things are moving right along.

John and I are going to NY for the Thanksgiving holidays and to Maine over the Dec. holiday know to Christians as "Christmas"...the only time my birth family would agree on.

Comment by Valerie Knowles on December 5, 2009 at 5:35pm: How wonderful Carin you get to go to Merchavia. So you will be doing what the couple from South America were doing? I volunteered there with Patty during the war last Dec, and in Jan.
Will you stay the 3 months? I got 9 wonderful months (in and out) in Israel ,for all the Feasts.. it was wonderful.
If you need a massage Estee is wonderful..... right there in the next building over....... ask Talia for her number....
Today was good on SWOW I did not see you though...
